How much does the NRL Trophy Weight : How Heavy is the NRL Trophy

The NRL trophy has gone through a couple of iterations, and its weight has changed as a result:

  • Original Trophy (1998): This was made of bronze and weighed a hefty 34 kg.
  • Current Trophy (1999-present): To make it easier to handle, it was recast in aluminum. This brought the weight down to 19 kg.

That’s still pretty heavy, but much more manageable for the winning team to hoist and celebrate with!

Australian rugby league club competition, the National Rugby League (NRL), is a professional rugby league league. An independent commission oversees this premier domestic rugby competition. There are 15 Australian teams and one New Zealand team in this tournament.

History

  • According to Wikipedia, “The New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) ran the major rugby league competition of New South Wales from its inception in 1908 until 1994.”
  • The expansion of NSWRL has taken place with interstate competitions by the inclusion of teams from other states.
  • With the introduction of commercial sponsorship and Winfield Cup, the State of Origin series in the 1980s brought interest in Rugby competitions in Australia, hence the entire sports world.
  • Eventually, in 1995, the reign of premiership passed from NSWRL to ARL (Australian Rugby League) governing body.
  • With the invitation of four more teams outside NSW, a demise occurred, which led to the formation of truly national competition.
  • ARL & News Ltd. Jointly formed the National Rugby League (NRL) in Australia in 1998.
  • The club merging trend begun during the 1998-2002 period brought a short era of rationalization.
  • After 2003, the NRL achieved record popularity in the rugby game world. Thousands of spectators have watched the game in the stadium and millions outside of the stadium thanks to TV broadcasting and upsurge of the internet.
  • After 2010, a new and independent commission ARLC (Australian Rugby League Corporation) has formed with the agreement of ARL & News Corporation under the hood of the Australian government body managing sports affairs. Rules and details of the competitions have framed jointly.

NRL Trophies/Awards:

It’s the championship’s top prize. The captain of the champion club receives the trophy during the grand finals. Much like the Provan-Summons trophy, the Winfield Cup trophy shares many similarities in its design.

Gladiators is a 3D model of the movie. They are Arthur Summons from Western Suburbs and St. George resident Norm Provan.
