To activate your new Joker Prepaid Card, login into www.jokercard.ca to register your card. Unless you register your card in advance, there may be no way an online, mail, or telephone order merchant can confirm your identity.
There are a couple of ways to activate your new Joker Prepaid Card:
1. Online:
- Visit the Joker Card website (https://www.jokercard.ca/) and look for the activation section.
- You’ll likely need to provide card details like the card number, expiry date, and CVV.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process.
2. By Phone:
- Call the customer service number on the back of your card. It’s usually 1-855-288-0926
- Follow the prompts to reach the card activation section
- Provide the necessary card details to the customer service representative
HOW DOES THE JOKER PREPAID CARD WORK?
The Joker Prepaid Card can be used wherever VISA and Mastercard cards are accepted. To use the card at a point-of-sale terminal, simply swipe the magstripe on the back of the card and sign the receipt.
When a prepaid card is used, the total cost of the transaction, including taxes and other fees, is withdrawn from the card’s balance. When the balance on a gift card is depleted, it can no longer be used for purchases.
DO I NEED TO REGISTER MY CARD FOR ONLINE, MAIL OR TELEPHONE PURCHASES?
Yes, online, mail and telephone order merchants often require that personal information, including name, address, telephone number, and email address of the cardholder be verified with the card-issuing financial institution prior to purchase. If you wish to make online, mail, or telephone order purchases, you should go to jokercard.ca to register your card.
Online, mail, or phone order businesses may not be able to verify your identification unless you register your card in advance. Even if there are enough funds on the card, the sale could be declined without this verification
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT THE BALANCE IS ON MY THE JOKER PREPAID CARD?
You can check your balance online at jokercard.ca or by calling 1-855-288-0926. A merchant will not be able to tell you how much money you have remaining on the prepaid card. Knowing your balance before shopping will help ensure that the Joker Prepaid Card has enough funds available to pay for your purchases.
Some merchants permit ‘split transactions’. If you wish to use your card for a purchase that is greater than the balance associated with your card and the seller permits split transactions, you must charge only the exact amount available on the card to the card. Then you must pay the difference using another payment method. The merchant may require payment for the difference in cash rather than accepting another card, such as a credit or debit card. Some merchants may not accept these ‘split transactions’. If you fail to inform the merchant that you want to perform a split tender transaction prior to completing the transaction, your card is likely to be declined.
The Card expires but funds do not. If there is a remaining balance on the Card when the Card expires, please contact 1-855-288-0926 for a new Card with the then-current balance.

WHAT ARE MY SPENDING LIMITS ON MY CARD?
Limits:
Maximum card balance: $500 CAD
Maximum single spend: $500 CAD
Effective August 7, 2020, the maximum spend in a single transaction at merchants located in the ƚEuropean Economic Area will be limited to $75 CAD. If you experience a decline at a merchant located in this region, please try again for an amount equal to or less than $75 CAD. The maximum spend over the lifetime of the Card in this region is $225 CAD
DO FUNDS EXPIRE?
There is a “Valid Thru” date on your Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercard. This is the date after which you may not use that Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercard for any purpose. However, your right to use the funds loaded on that Virtual Joker Prepaid Mastercard does not expire and cards may be replaced on and following the Valid Thru indicated on the face of the Card at no cost to the Cardholder. You may contact customer service at 1-833-293-7721 to request a replacement Card.
